Transporting animals to their new home in India
We were asked to help fly an array of animals across Asia, including zebras, hawks, sloths, wallabies and raccoons! Weighing a total of 50 tonnes, they were heading from Thailand to a 3000-acre rehabilitation centre in India that’s home to over 150,000 animals rescued from circuses, zoos and traffickers. Drawing on decades of experience transporting live animals, our expert team got to work on an air charter solution.
Our Solution
Routes: Bangkok > Ahmedabad
Aircraft: Boeing B747-400F
With just two weeks until departure, we arranged the charter of a freighter and liaised with the Thai civil aviation authority to secure permits. Mindful of the animals’ comfort and wellbeing, our cargo experts arranged a dedicated loading area in the airport warehouse.
We organised enough handlers and equipment to move the animals smoothly onto the aircraft, along with three veterinarians to monitor their wellbeing during the flight. The flight went off without a hitch and the animals were soon settling into their new home.
The Finer Details
Personal Touch: A member of our team accompanied the animals and veterinarians on the flight to ensure everything ran seamlessly.
