Flying 37 huskies to a sled race in Alaska
Our cargo experts were tasked with flying three teams of huskies from Norway to Alaska, where they were competing in a long-distance sled race. A non-stop charter flight was needed to transport the 37 animals as quickly and comfortably as possible, accompanied by two dog handlers and nine cases of race equipment. We got straight to work on a bespoke solution for this sensitive shipment.
Our Solution
Routes: Oslo > Anchorage
Aircraft: Boeing 757-200F
We found an ideal option within 24 hours, sourcing a narrow-body freighter to transport the two-tonne payload on a direct flight. Our team took care of customs clearance and import permits, ensuring each dog had the correct paperwork and health documents to travel.
On the day of the flight, we booked an outdoor space at the warehouse so the huskies could exercise ahead of their journey. They were then loaded into individual kennels, which were spread out on pallets for maximum airflow and loaded onto the spacious main deck.
The charter went off without a hitch, with our team securing airside access in Alaska so the dogs could be transferred straight onto trailers and driven to their final destination.
